We are called to "BE" the church

Jesus served both physical and spiritual needs of people.

The Edge is committed to doing the same.

2018 Mission trip schedule

Nicaragua, July 21 - July 29, 2018
This will be our 4th trip to Managua, Nicaragua. During our time there, we will work with two ministries, ONE by ONE and House of Hope. One by One is a ministry that serves children and teens, many of whom live in poverty and are at risk for abuse or exploitation. Their mission is to provide a safe place for academic, emotional and spiritual growth through their child and youth outreach programs. During our time at One by One, we will conduct art classes & fun ministry activities during their after school program.

House of Hope is a vocational rehabilitation program for women leaving the world prostitution and human trafficking. Their purpose is to provide these women with a means to make a living and establish them in their faith in Christ. Your Edge Mission Team will be helping these women learn valuable and practical skills during the week we are there, to enable them to earn money to support themselves and their families, while teaching Bible lessons and fundamentals of the Gospel.

FACT: 60% of human trafficking victims in the Western hemisphere are from Nicaragua.

Local Community Outreach

The Greer Soup Kitchen, a part of Daily Bread Ministries, is a non-profit, charitable organization that was founded in 1990 when concerned citizens observed that people in their own town were going hungry. The Soup Kitchen began in a run-down storefront in downtown Greer. One meal was served on their first day. Today over one hundred and fifty meals per day are served in a modern restaurant-style facility. They rely completely upon donations of food and money from private citizens, churches and businesses. They receive no monies from governmental agencies. Their Food Pantry shelves rely on the support and generosity of the community to keep a variety of food items in stock. They are also in need of financial donations and kitchen tools and equipment. The Edge regularly works in their kitchen periodically, assisting in meal service for 150 to 200 members of our community in need.

Hands On Greenville Day: We are gearing up for our church-wide service day on Saturday, May 5,  2018 hosted by Hands On Greenville, a volunteer organization. This year The Edge is partnering with Hands On Greenville by participating in this event in order to be a part of the largest day of service in the Upstate!  On last year’s HOG Day, 6,817 volunteers completed 278 projects. That’s 27,268 hours of service and an economic impact of $550,813 for our community in just one day!
