We are called to "BE" the church

Jesus served both physical and spiritual needs of people.

The Edge is committed to doing the same.

2021 Mission trip schedule

During our time in Honduras, we will work with Women of Hope. Women of Hope is a vocational rehabilitation program for women leaving the world prostitution and or who have escaped human trafficking. Women of Hope's purpose is to provide these women with a means to make a living and establish them in their faith in Christ. The Construction Team, going Feb 21-28 will be helping to complete the ministry's facility so that the women and children have a safe place to meet and hear the Gospel.  The Ministry Team traveling June 12-19 will be helping these women learn valuable and practical skills to enable them to earn money to support themselves and their families, and teaching Bible lessons and fundamentals of the Gospel to the women and their children.

We are already building the team. If you are interested, please contact Robin Lewis.

Local Community Outreach

The Greer Soup Kitchen, a part of Daily Bread Ministries, is a non-profit, charitable organization that was founded in 1990 when concerned citizens observed that people in their own town were going hungry. The Soup Kitchen began in a run-down storefront in downtown Greer. One meal was served on their first day. Today over one hundred and fifty meals per day are served in a modern restaurant-style facility. They rely completely upon donations of food and money from private citizens, churches and businesses. They receive no monies from governmental agencies. Their Food Pantry shelves rely on the support and generosity of the community to keep a variety of food items in stock. They are also in need of financial donations and kitchen tools and equipment. The Edge regularly works in their kitchen periodically, assisting in meal service for 150 to 200 members of our community in need.

Backpack Buddies: This is an ongoing program with Lake Forrest Elementary school, to provide meals and snacks to children who may not have adequate meals over the weekends! We collect food and financial donations to prepare packs for the children to take home on Friday afternoons...because hunger doesn't stop on the weekends.
