our Merge with Renovation Church

In January 2022, Edge Church will become Renovation Church Greenville, following the retirement of Pastor Brad Lewis. While we will always remember the work the Lord has done through the ministry of Edge Church, we are also excited to see what the Lord has in store for this new church body.

Renovation Greenville will be a sister congregation to Renovation Church Simpsonville. The two will be connected legally and financially, sharing one vision, resources, and senior leadership, and working together to honor the Lord as we build disciples to go make disciples.

Renovation Greenville will be led by Joe Cuyar and Matt Humphrey. Joe, who has been Renovation’s Worship Pastor, will be our Local Lead Pastor. Matt, who has been Renovation’s Student Pastor, will be our Teaching Pastor. We will occasionally have Jeremy Havlin, Renovation’s Senior Pastor here, but Joe and Matt will be the primary leadership.

We invite you to join with us and see the new thing the Lord is doing, from the ground floor up!

Renovation church history

Renovation Church was formed in 2014 in the Regal Cinema in Simpsonville, SC. After one year of meeting at the theater, we were outgrowing the space quickly and deeply longing for a facility that was available for more than a few hours on Sunday. The week of our first anniversary, Renovation was approached by Westside Baptist Church about the possibility of joining the two congregations. In April 2016, Westside Baptist joined Renovation Church. Renovation rejoiced to have additional spiritual mothers and fathers and a permanent home, and Westsiders rejoiced to once again see lights on in the children’s wing and a bustling auditorium.

Since then, we have continued to see numerical growth as a church, but more significantly, we rejoice over the spiritual growth in those who have chosen to make Renovation their church home and committed to our mission of “making disciples to go make disciples.” The past several years, our leadership has been prayerfully pursuing the vision the Lord has laid on Pastor Jeremy’s heart: to expand our ministry opportunities by adding an additional campus. The Lord is bringing this to fruition in a way that only He could, as he impressed Brad Lewis to inquire if Edge Church could become part of Renovation following his retirement in January 2022.

A FEW questions & answers

WHAT IS RENOVATION CHURCH'S HEARTBEAT AND HOW DO THEY PRACTICALLY APPLY IT?

Renovation focuses on building disciples to go make disciples. They do this by developing followers who are making Jesus Lord of their lives and living in obedience to His Word, and builders who build up others as followers of Christ and pursue unity in His church.

HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED AT RENOVATION CHURCH?

Vibrant relationships are what make a church into a family. Renovation believes in building meaningful relationships by encouraging everyone to serve, and to get involved in Connection Groups or Discipleship Groups.

Everyone is welcome at Renovation, and membership is not required to be a part of the Renovation family. However, Renovators are attendees who are committed to Renovation Church through prayer, serving, tithing, and attendance. The requirements to become a Renovator are attending a Renovators Class, completing a discipleship class called Rooted, and agreeing to a covenant statement.

WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO KNOW?

Renovation is inviting individuals and families from their church body and ours to be part of the Launch Team for Renovation Greenville. The Launch Team will be committed to attend and serve at Renovation Greenville and make it their church home. Please pray and ask the Lord what He would have you do.
